Sundance Boats Old

INTRODUCTION TO SUNDANCE BOATS:

As always, Rockport Marine, Inc. is dedicated to carrying the best boats at the absolute best value. In our opinion, Sundance Boats are by far the best skiff available on the market at a great value. If you are in the market for a skiff, you owe it to yourself to come and test drive a Sundance. We are confident that you will agree that there is not a better skiff on the market.

"We started Sundance in 1993 with a desire to build the best shallow draft fishing skiffs available and to do it for the best price around"

Wally Bell, Founder Sundance Skiffs

WHY SUNDANCE SKIFFS OVER SIMILIAR SKIFFS:

3) More Standard Features: Check out the competition carefully and see who offers more standard features
4) Superior Contruction (I Beam Construction with a fore and aft stringer every 6 inches)
5) Better All Around Performance: Sundance has a better ride and is more fuel efficient and drier than the competition.
(COME TEST DRIVE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF)
6) Best Warranty of Any Skiff: Sundance offers a 10 Year Transferable Warranty while competitors only offer a 5 Year Warranty.
7) Decal Warranty: All Sundance decals have a 7 year warranty to keep your skiff looking new through the years of use.
8) Top Side Decks, Consoles, Fiberglass Lids, Fuel Tanks & Hoses, Engine Controls have a 3 Year Warranty.
9) Cutting Edge Hull Designs: The "NEW" NX SERIES are unlike any other skiff in the market.
10) Yamaha Power Matched Boats come with a 3 Year Warranty on all gauges and controls.

The Carolina brand competition has tried everything. They resorted to clunky V"s with the wrong shaped and then abandoned the effort. They put tiny lips on the boat and then regulatred it to "oops that doesn't work"status. And now they doing old fashioned Tri Hulls. The fact remains, if spray is up in front of the boat...it's too late...you will get wet. We all remember the wet old Tri-Hulls.

NO ONE HAS DUPLICATED THE SUNDANCE SRV HULL THAT PROVIDES A DRIER RIDE THAN THE COMPETITION

SUPERIOR CONSTRUCTION:

\"\\"\\\\"\\\\\\\\"i\\\\"\\"\"
How do you make a hull both lighter and stronger? You add more stringers. Stringers are like floor joist, the closer the spacing the stiffer the floor. A typical power boat has 4 stringers running fore and aft. Adding more conventional stringers would make it stronger. But it would also make the boat heavier and more expensive. Sundance engineers developed the I Beam stringer system which uses foam preforms to build the stringer system at the same time the boat is laid up. The advantages are a fore and aft stringer every 6 inches. And the stringers, hull and floor are built at the same time so they cure together for a perfect primary bond. This balanced sandwich construction makes an incredible strong and stiff hull using less material and less labor.

Sundance I Beam hulls are stiffer, stronger and lighter, and give you more bang for the buck then any other skiff.

Along with strength we wanted uncompromising safety. Our boats are virtually unsinkable. The center picture is the aft section of an F19 hull. The five men have a combined weight of 1125 lbs. The boat is sitting level in the water and you can clearly see most of the 6 inch thick foam preforms. The boat is drafting 3 inches. That's unsinkable safety.

We also wanted maximum hull displacement at anchor to minimize draft. To be a really shallow draft boat the hull needs a flat bottom. Why? Because a flat bottom hull has more displacement for a given beam then any hull styles. The illustration on the right graphically demonstrates this. The calculation was based on 17 ft. boats with 76 inch beams and the Vee bottom boat has a 20 degree dead rise bottom. Remember the engine foot and propeller will be 8 inches below the bottom of the boat.

Another advantage to flat bottom hull forms is planing efficiency. When a boat is powered at planing speeds, it is the wet surface that creates drag. The more surface area of the hull and the deeper a hull cuts down into the water - the more drag the engine has to overcome.

PERFECT FOR THE TEXAS COAST:

Sundance Boats are perfect for The Texas Gulf Coast. If you have spent any amount of time on the Texas Gulf Coast, you know how varied our bay systems can be. We have lots of open bays that are windy and rough. In addition we have huge expanse of shallow flats along the Texas Gulf Coast. Sundance makes a boat that almost seems if it were made for the Texas Gulf Coast.

* K BOATS: The K Boats are 16' boats that have a 64" beam. The K Boats make a great yacht tender, a smaller boat for the kids or the "Ultimate Personal Fishing Machine". The K Boats can run extremely shallow and draft in just inches of water.

The K Series comes in 1 length: K16 (16 Feet) and has 2 different deck configurations (K16CC & K16FLX)

* F BOATS: The F Boats are full size 76" beam boats. The bottoms on the F Boats have been completely re-engineered with the new "posi-grip, no-trip" hull and have now added our new Side Relief Vee Bow. The Side Relief Vee Bow bow design exhausts water spray laterally down and away from the boat not up and forward like most other skiffs. The new F Series boats will out turn any skiff on the market today. No other skiff runs drier in a chop.

The F Series come in 2 lengths: F17 (17 Feet), F19 (19 Feet) and are offered with 6 interior layouts.
The CCR Models have a 1 piece molded gunwale cover that connects the Yacht Finish Front & Rear Casting Platforms.

* B BOATS: The B Series Boats have a wide 94" beam. The 94" beam provides a very roomy interior and is great for families and serious fishermen. Because of the wide beam, the B Series Boats can carry a full load of fuel and crew and still achieve a 6" draft at rest. In addition, the B Series Boats have the posi-grip, no-trip hull bottom and Side Relief Vee Bow. The SRV hull design will exhaust water spray laterally down and away from the boat. This bow shape was developed after extensive testing using high speed video equipment to analyze forward spray characteristics of different skiffs on the market, including our own boats. This new hull design will run drier in a light to moderate chop than any "standard Vee series skiff" built today. This skiffs will get you into some real skinny fishing spots with a 6" draft at rest with a full load of fuel and crew.

The B Series Boats come in 3 lengths: B18 (18 Feet), B20 (20 feet), B22 (22 feet).
The CCR Models have a 1 piece molded gunwale cover that connects the Yacht Finish Front & Rear Casting Platforms.

* NX Series: The NX Series is our next generation of skiffs and is our answer for the boat of the future. We have always specialized in shallow draft boats that are easy going to require less horsepower. However, we were getting the request for a shallow draft boat that was more refined and had more features and more free board. This led to the NX Series, a boat based on a 5 degree hull bottom for shallow draft but with an offshore style interior.

The NX Series Boats come in 4 lengths: NX25 (25 Feet), NX 21 (21 Feet), NX 19 (19 Feet), NX 17 (Feet).
